Truecaller Collaborates with Microsoft to Integrate Personal Voice with AI Assistant: How to Set It Up
Truecaller is leveraging Microsoft’s Azure AI Speech’s Personal Voice feature.
Truecaller is collaborating with Microsoft to enhance its AI-powered Assistant. Through this partnership, the caller identification app will integrate Microsoft’s Azure AI Speech feature called Personal Voice. This integration will enable the AI Assistant to mimic the user’s voice when screening or responding to calls on their behalf. The feature starts rolling out today in select countries, with plans to expand to more regions soon.

In a community post, Truecaller announced, “With the addition of Microsoft’s Personal Voice, users of the Truecaller Assistant can now create a completely digital version of their own voice to use within the Assistant.” The AI Assistant, introduced in September 2022, offers various functionalities such as screening calls, responding to calls, taking messages, and recording calls for later listening, similar to voicemail.
While this is a useful feature, Truecaller previously offered a limited selection of voices for the AI Assistant. When someone called, they would hear one of these pre-selected voices before the user answered, which could sometimes catch the caller off-guard. To address this issue, Truecaller is introducing Personal Voice, allowing users to use their own voice for the AI Assistant.
This feature is now being rolled out to Truecaller Premium users in the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, India, Sweden, and Chile. The company has stated that it will soon expand to other regions.
