The Algorand Foundation Announces Blockchain Developer Course on Nasscom’s FutureSkills Platform

Algorand’s training program is now available on Nasscom’s FutureSkills Prime platform.

Algorand is steadily expanding its footprint in India’s blockchain sector. This week, the Algorand Foundation’s India-focused initiative, AlgoBharat, unveiled an app developer program aimed at training Indian engineers in blockchain development. Nasscom, India’s leading non-government tech trade body, has partnered with Algorand to enhance blockchain training efforts. Algorand’s training program is being launched on Nasscom’s FutureSkills Prime platform, which is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and is dedicated to providing advanced tech education to the developer community.

Algorand’s Blockchain Developer Programme Launched in India

On May 4, AlgoBharat announced that its training course is now available on Nasscom’s FutureSkills platform. The company also stated that the program aligns with India’s National Occupational Standards (NOS) and the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

As part of this program, AlgoBharat will host detailed webinars focused on blockchain research and development. According to the blockchain firm, this initiative may enable promising developers to travel both nationally and internationally to attend blockchain development workshops.

“Being the first blockchain platform to partner with Nasscom, Algorand is developing original developer training content. Over the past 18 months, the Foundation has heavily invested in university engagements, offering educational content and hands-on activities to support the learning journey of India’s computer science and engineering students,” the company said in a press release.

Algorand to Focus on Student Engagement in India

Algorand’s focus turned to India after the Maharashtra government partnered with the ‘green’ blockchain in 2022 to store health-related data of its citizens. In April 2023, Anil Kakani, Vice President and India Country Head at Algorand Foundation, discussed with Gadgets360 the goal of transforming India into a global Web3 development hub.

Over the past two years, the foundation claims to have engaged with numerous students across Indian universities. According to its latest announcement, Algorand Blockchain Clubs have now expanded to over 50 educational institutions at the university level.

Additionally, Algorand has announced the third iteration of its faculty training programme on blockchain at Bengaluru’s BMS College of Engineering.

“It is inspiring to see students establishing blockchain clubs nationwide and learning to develop on the Algorand blockchain platform. Our collaboration with Nasscom’s FutureSkills Prime platform demonstrates our strong commitment to India’s digital future,” Kakani stated in a prepared statement.
