Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Said to Be in the Works; Could Launch Later This Year

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE became available for purchase in certain countries towards the end of 2023.

Samsung recently launched its flagship Galaxy S24 series, consisting of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, in January. However, the focus has now shifted to the development of the Fan Edition series. Initially rumored to debut in the summer as a more affordable variant of the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S24 FE’s launch has been postponed, as per information from a Dutch outlet.

According to a report by Galaxyclub, Samsung is currently working on a new smartphone codenamed R12, which is believed to be associated with the Galaxy S24 FE. This follows the codename pattern of previous Fan Edition models, with the Galaxy S23 FE having the model number R11, the Galaxy S21 FE being R9, and the Galaxy S20 FE being R8. Although the codename R10 was reportedly assigned to the Galaxy S22 FE, that device never materialized.

Initially expected to launch this summer, the latest report indicates that the Galaxy S24 FE’s release has been delayed due to ongoing development. It is now anticipated to hit the market by the end of 2024 or early 2025. This aligns with the launch schedule of its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE, which was announced in October last year and saw a wider release in various countries in early 2024.

There hasn’t been much information from reliable sources regarding the Galaxy S24 FE yet. It’s rumored to feature a 6.1-inch AMOLED display and be powered by either the Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, depending on the region. The device could offer 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and come in 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage variants. Additionally, it’s expected to include a 4,500mAh battery.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 FE in India with a price starting at Rs. 59,999 for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
