Oppo has launched the Reno 12 5G series in India, featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC and AI capabilities. The series comes with updated pricing and specifications.

The Oppo Reno 12 5G series supports rapid charging with 80W SuperVOOC technology.

On Friday (July 12), Oppo launched the Reno 12 Pro 5G and Reno 12 5G in India. These new flagship models are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chipsets and feature AMOLED displays with refresh rates of up to 120Hz. They come with ColorOS 14.1 based on Android 14 and are equipped with triple rear camera setups, highlighted by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 camera. The Oppo Reno 12 series had earlier debuted in China and selected global markets in recent months, featuring the same Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC in international versions. In China, the Reno 12 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition chipset, while the Reno 12 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition SoC.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G is priced at Rs. 36,999 for the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and Rs. 40,999 for the model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It comes in Space Brown and Sunset Gold colors and will be available for purchase starting from July 18.

Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 12 5G costs Rs. 32,999 for the version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is set to go on sale from July 25 in Astro Silver, Matte Brown, and Sunset Peach colors. Both phones will be sold through Flipkart and the Oppo India website.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G and Oppo Reno 12 5G feature dual-SIM (Nano) support and run on ColorOS 14.1 based on Android 14. Oppo promises three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates for both models. They sport a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,412 pixels) quad-curved AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 394ppi pixel density, and 20:9 aspect ratio. The display supports HDR10+ and boasts a peak brightness of 1200nits for outdoor visibility. The Oppo Reno 12 Pro’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the Reno 12 features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i coating.

Both models are powered by a custom octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD card.

In terms of cameras, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G sports a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary Sony LYT600 sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN5 telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. It boasts a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN5 front camera for selfies. The Oppo Reno 12 5G shares the same 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 primary sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It features a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G and Reno 12 5G come equipped with integrated AI features such as AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer, and AI Speak. These smartphones also include AI-enhanced camera functionalities like AI Best Face and AI Eraser 2.0.

The Oppo Reno 12 5G series offers various connectivity options including 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, IR Blaster, and Wi-Fi 6. They feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication and support face unlock. Additionally, they boast an IP65-rated build.

Oppo has equipped the Reno 12 5G series with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC charging support. This rapid charging capability is touted to charge the battery from 1% to 100% in just 46 minutes. The Pro model measures 161.4×74.7×7.40mm and weighs 180 grams, while the standard model measures 161.4×74.1×7.6mm and weighs approximately 177 grams.
