Microsoft has declared an Xbox Games Showcase scheduled for June 9, where it’s expected to unveil the next Call of Duty and Gears of War.

The occasion will showcase an upcoming roster of games from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios, alongside third-party titles on Xbox.

Microsoft has unveiled an Xbox Games Showcase for its first-party titles scheduled for June, alongside a dedicated Direct event for an undisclosed game. The showcase will be streamed live on June 9, starting at 10am PT (10:30am IST) on Xbox’s YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook channels. It will feature an upcoming lineup of games from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios, as well as third-party titles on Xbox.

Following the Xbox Games Showcase, there will be a Direct event promising a “deep dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise.” Although Microsoft has not revealed specifics about the event, a report from The Verge, citing sources familiar with the company’s plans, suggests that the Direct stream will focus on the next Call of Duty game. The highly popular first-person shooter franchise is now under Microsoft’s umbrella of first-party games following its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard last year.

Furthermore, the report also hints at some of the titles that might be unveiled or receive updates at the Xbox Showcase. Microsoft is said to be planning to announce a new Gears of War game during the event. The previous installment, Gears 5, was released in 2019, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news about Gears of War 6.

The showcase is expected to unveil release date information for previously announced titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Additionally, details about the launch date for the Shattered Space expansion for Starfield will also be revealed. According to reports, the expansion is aiming for a September release, while the next Call of Duty game is scheduled for October. Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are reportedly set to debut in November, while Bethesda’s Indiana Jones is likely planned for a holiday season launch in December.

Although Microsoft hasn’t disclosed specifics yet, the showcase is expected to shed more light on its upcoming first-party titles. Additionally, the event will probably provide further insights into Xbox’s lineup of games for 2025. According to The Verge, this year’s showcase will feature “a lot of games to show,” surpassing the number presented in last year’s event.
