Snapchat has rolled out a range of new features, including editable chats and emoji reactions.

Snapchat is rolling out a series of new features to enhance user interaction and improve existing experiences on the platform. Among these updates are several powered by artificial intelligence (AI), with some exclusively available to Snapchat+ subscribers. The additions include Editable Chats, Emoji Reactions, My AI Reminders, a feature utilizing AI to create custom outfits for Bitmoji avatars, and more.
Snapchat New Features
In a recent newsroom post, the social media platform unveiled its latest features. The company stated, “Snapchatters create over 5 billion Snaps daily to visually connect with friends. Now, we’re introducing new features to facilitate quicker connections, enable novel self-expression, and utilize My AI for better organization in busy lives.”
One of the new features, Editable Chats, permits users to edit messages within five minutes of sending them, akin to WhatsApp’s feature. Initially, this is accessible only to Snapchat+ subscribers, with potential expansion to all users in the future.
Presently, Snapchat users can solely react to messages using Bitmoji. However, the Emoji Reactions feature will enable them to employ any emoji for message reactions. Additionally, the My AI Reminders feature allows users to set reminders swiftly by sending a brief message to My AI with event details like name, date, and time. Once sent, My AI initiates an in-app countdown and sends a notification when the countdown concludes. Snap Map is receiving a minor enhancement as well, permitting users to react to others on the map with emojis.
In addition to these updates, Snapchat is introducing two new AI features. The first one is an AI-driven Bitmoji outfit generator. Users can now provide a brief description of the outfit they desire, and the AI will generate a variety of similar clothing options. These outfits may include unique patterns, colors, designs, and more. The second feature, recently launched, is called the ‘90s AI Lens. This lens utilizes AI to apply creative effects automatically to images once they are captured, evoking the aesthetic of the 1990s.
