On March 5, Nothing launched the Nothing Phone 2a in India, equipped with an octa-core 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, dual 50-megapixel rear cameras, and a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. It comes preloaded with Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14. Recently, the phone received the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update, bringing new camera features, general enhancements, bug fixes, and Google’s April security patch. Now, the Nothing OS 2.5.5a update is being rolled out globally for Phone 2a users, introducing ChatGPT integration and other new features.

Nothing confirmed in a post on X that the Nothing OS 2.5.5a update is now available for Phone 2a users. One notable addition in the changelog is the integration of ChatGPT. To utilize all features, users must ensure they have downloaded the latest version of the ChatGPT application from the Play Store on their Phone 2a devices.

With the installation of the Nothing OS 2.5.5a update, Phone 2a users can access ChatGPT through their Nothing Ear or Nothing Ear A true wireless earphones. The Nothing X app allows customization of a gesture to initiate a direct voice conversation with ChatGPT. The company mentioned that this functionality will soon extend to other Nothing audio products as well.

The enhanced accessibility to ChatGPT will enable Nothing Phone 2a users to utilize the AI chatbot almost like a virtual assistant. The Nothing OS 2.5.5a update for the Phone 2a introduces new ChatGPT widgets on the home screen. Additionally, the update includes a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up, allowing users to directly paste content from a file into a new conversation in ChatGPT.

The Nothing OS 2.5.5a update for Phone 2a also brings improvements such as better color consistency in the primary wide-angle camera, enhanced portrait brightness in HDR scenes, and optimized performance when opening the camera app. Furthermore, it claims to resolve an earlier issue related to abnormal noise in portrait mode images.

According to the changelog, the Nothing OS 2.5.5a update for Phone 2a addresses issues related to call stability and clarity, as well as problems with unlocking fluidity and swipe ease. It also integrates an AI-driven algorithm for auto-brightness adjustments and enhances the visual display of battery levels in the Battery widget while optimizing power-saving mode.
