The Nothing Phone 2a, the third smartphone from the UK-based brand, was revealed in March. Following its official launch, the device received updates to NothingOS 2.5.3 and Nothing OS 2.5.4, which brought bug fixes and camera enhancements. Now, Nothing is introducing another software update focusing on further camera improvements. The latest iteration, Nothing OS 2.5.5, includes the April 2024 security patch, along with enhancements in system stability and performance. This update resolves issues related to compatibility with certain third-party launchers and addresses stability issues concerning Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.
The UK-based startup announced the release of Nothing OS 2.5.5 for the Nothing Phone 2a on Monday, through a post on X. The new firmware update introduces new camera features, various general improvements, bug fixes, and Google’s April security patches.
According to the changelog, Nothing OS 2.5.5 enhances camera color saturation and speeds up the camera loading process on the Phone 2a. It optimizes blur accuracy in Portrait Mode and ensures overall clarity. Additionally, the update improves the wake-up experience for Google Assistant and optimizes pop-up view animations. The latest build is said to enhance overall smoothness and gaming performance of the device.
Nothing is also addressing several known bug fixes with its latest software rollout. This includes resolving compatibility issues with some third-party launchers on the Phone 2a. Furthermore, the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update fixes stability issues related to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. It also corrects issues concerning the Night Light feature on the lock screen and bundles system stability improvements.

The Nothing Phone 2a made its debut in India in the first week of March, priced at Rs. 23,999 for the base configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC and features an AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The device sports a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Additionally, it offers an IP54-rated build and showcases a Glyph Interface on the rear.
